As a member of our leadership team, the Security / Operations Manager plays a critical role in protecting our guests, supporting our tenants, and ensuring the seamless daily operation of one of Las Vegas's most dynamic retail destinations. Position Summary

The Security / Operations Manager is responsible for leading all security, life-safety, and daily operational functions for a high-traffic shopping mall located on the Las Vegas Strip. This position ensures a safe, secure, welcoming, and efficiently operated environment for tenants, employees, vendors, and visitors. The manager oversees security personnel, emergency response procedures, property operations, tenant relations, vendor management, and compliance with local regulations while maintaining a best-in-class guest experience.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Security & Life Safety

• Manage all on-site security operations for the shopping center, including patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and insurance/claims.
• Supervise security officers, dispatch personnel, and contracted security providers.
• Enforce security policies, procedures, and post orders.
• Conduct routine security assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate responses to emergencies including medical incidents, disturbances, theft, fire alarms, suspicious activity, and severe weather events.
• Maintain effective relationships with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), Clark County Fire Department, and emergency responders.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and tenant/customer complaints and prepare detailed reports daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and risk management standards.

Shopping Mall Operations

• Monitor day-to-day operations of the property to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive shopping environment.
• Coordinate operational activities with housekeeping, maintenance, engineering, parking, and landscaping teams.
• Monitor contractor performance and service quality.
• Conduct routine property inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Support facility maintenance
• Ensure compliance with ADA requirements, fire codes.
• Tenant & Customer Relations

• Serve as security liaison for tenants regarding security concerns, deliveries, access control, and operational matters.
• Address customer concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with retailers to enhance customer safety.

Emergency Preparedness

• Maintain, and implement emergency response and business continuity plans.
• Coordinate evacuation drills and emergency preparedness training.
• Ensure all team members are trained in emergency procedures and incident documentation.

Leadership & Administration

• Train, schedule, coach, and evaluate security and operations personnel.
• Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak shopping hours, holidays.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in security management, operations management, retail property management, hospitality, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Fire systems CCTV systems, access control, alarm systems, and emergency response protocols.
• Experience managing vendors, and staff schedules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – (Word and Excel) and incident management software.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Preferred

• Experience managing security and operations within a shopping mall, resort, casino, entertainment venue, or mixed-use property.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Familiarity with Nevada safety and regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to patrol interior and exterior mall areas for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs and access rooftop and parking structures when necessary.
• Ability to respond rapidly to emergency situations.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
